AM Best Affirms Credit Ratings of Sammons Financial Group, Inc. and Its Subsidiaries

AM Best has reaffirmed the financial strength rating of A+ (Superior) and the long-term issuer credit ratings of "aa-" (Superior) for Midland National Life Insurance Company and North American Company for Life and Health Insurance. Both companies are headquartered in West Des Moines, Iowa. The rating agency also affirmed the long-term issuer credit rating of "a-" (Excellent) and the long-term issue credit ratings for Sammons Financial Group, Inc., the parent entity.

The ratings reflect the balance sheet strength of the insurance subsidiaries, which AM Best categorizes as strongest, as well as their adequate operating performance, favorable business profile, and appropriate enterprise risk management. The affirmation applies to the core life insurance operations under the Sammons Financial umbrella, which includes the two primary life insurers.
