Birmingham-based civil engineering firm SARCOR has appointed Antoine Liddell as its new vice president of finance, a move that comes alongside a $40,000 incentive package approved by the city. The company recently relocated its headquarters to Birmingham, and the financial boost is tied to that transition.
Liddell steps into the role with a background in corporate accounting and strategic planning. His responsibilities will include overseeing the firm's budgeting, financial reporting, and long-term growth planning. SARCOR leadership said the hire reflects the company's focus on strengthening its internal operations as it expands its client base across the Southeast.
The $40,000 incentive was approved by the Birmingham City Council as part of an economic development agreement. City officials said the funds are meant to offset some of the costs associated with the relocation and to encourage job retention in the area. SARCOR has committed to maintaining its current workforce in the new headquarters and has hinted at potential hiring in the coming year.
The firm specializes in civil engineering services, including site development, infrastructure design, and land surveying. Its move to Birmingham is seen as part of a broader trend of engineering and technical firms choosing the city for its central location and growing talent pool. Liddell's appointment is effective immediately.
